Shorts



Why is gas so expensive? Because we spent trillions of dollars on a war which devalued our currency and weakened our economy. Boy that was smart. (link)

In spite of what you may have read, no one really knows where oil comes from. It might not even be a fossil at all.

You may have noticed the “Alan’s Shared Items” to the right. (If you’re reading this in a feed aggregator than you wouldn’t have, or if you block flash scripts, you won’t see it either.) It’s a place I post links to articles or other blog posts that I… well… feel like sharing.

You may have also noticed my out of control labels to the left. I’m attempting to clean them up, but I’m eclectic and the labels show it.

In 1789, the governor of Australia granted land and some animals to James Ruse in an experiment to see how long it would take him to support himself. Within 15 months he had become self sufficient. The area is still known as Experiment Farm. This is my Experiment Farm to see how long it will take me to support myself by writing.
