Random Cub

In honor of it being the 20th anniversary of the first official night game at Wrigley Field, I thought I'd Random Cub Raphael Palmeiro.

Yep, he was a Cub for three seasons. He even made the All-Star Game as a Cubs in 1988. But then we traded him and Jayme Moyer to the Rangers for Mitch Williams (and assorted other players). Boy, that was a great move. We got a couple anxiety-filled good seasons from Mitch (before he went to Philadelphia and single handedly lost them the 1993 World Series). Moyer and Palmeiro went on to huge careers.

Palmeiro is now best known for wagging his fingers at a Congressional hearing declaring "I have never used steroids, period. I don't know how to say it any more clearly than that. Never." only to test positive for steroid use just 5 months later.

In 1789, the governor of Australia granted land and some animals to James Ruse in an experiment to see how long it would take him to support himself. Within 15 months he had become self sufficient. The area is still known as Experiment Farm. This is my Experiment Farm to see how long it will take me to support myself by writing.
