Shorts

I’m going on something like a self imposed news black-out this week. It’s sort of an experiment to see if I get more done at work at work or on my writing if I’m not spending a lot of time reading the news. Besides, I’ll just end up worrying about the election or the Cubs, and realistically nothing earth shattering is going to happen in either of those dramas this week anyway. Maybe they’ll both do better if I’m not paying attention.

Unfortunately that probably means no Boing Boing this week either.

There will be more Japanaventures soon. I promise. I still have several more days to write about.

The Roxie makes really good sandwiches. I should get them more often

I had vertigo on Saturday and off and on Sunday. I mean, I didn’t have it really bad, but still. Weird. After feeling crappy most of the weekend, I’m starting to feel better. Just in time for work.

I posted to my improv blog about the last weekend of shows and to Our Intrepid Hero about my trip to Monterey.

  1. Vertigo: Were you sick recently? Labyrinthitis can cause vertigo. Antivert works great, but secretly, Dramamine is just as good.

  2. Turns out I was getting sick and the Vertigo was just the first symptom. It went away in a couple days and then the rest of the head cold hit me.

In 1789, the governor of Australia granted land and some animals to James Ruse in an experiment to see how long it would take him to support himself. Within 15 months he had become self sufficient. The area is still known as Experiment Farm. This is my Experiment Farm to see how long it will take me to support myself by writing.
