I wondered if the John McCain’s involvement in the Keating 5 scandal would ever come back up.

My sister posted a transcript of our text messages during the Cubs game Saturday night. Years ago we used to go to Cubs games together and swear like sailors. Saturday night was a game for that.

In another post she describes quite accurately being a Cubs fan:

Being a Cubs fan is like smoking. You start when you are young and innocent, and you still think you are immortal. By the time you realize it is slowly destroying you, it’s too late. You can’t quit. It’s true too. You never hear of a long-time Cubs fan saying, “oh screw this, I think I’ll go root for the Cardinals”. It just doesn’t happen.

In 1789, the governor of Australia granted land and some animals to James Ruse in an experiment to see how long it would take him to support himself. Within 15 months he had become self sufficient. The area is still known as Experiment Farm. This is my Experiment Farm to see how long it will take me to support myself by writing.
