Michael Jackson on Fire

I was never particularly a Michael Jackson fan, although I appreciate some of his music. I always found him something of a tragic figure. While I did not find his death to be all that surprising, I somehow find the fact that he's dead to be extremely weird.

Today I stumbled across this article about some newly released footage of the infamous incident back in 1984 when his hair caught fire filming a Pepsi ad. You can watch it here, but it's not for the squeamish. I mean his hair is on fire and at the very end you get a glimpse of the resulting bald spot. No wonder he was addicted to painkillers.

In 1789, the governor of Australia granted land and some animals to James Ruse in an experiment to see how long it would take him to support himself. Within 15 months he had become self sufficient. The area is still known as Experiment Farm. This is my Experiment Farm to see how long it will take me to support myself by writing.
