Quote of the Week: The Octagon

Korean Y.E. Yang stunned the world of golf on Sunday by beating Tiger Woods to win the PGA Championship. Yang was ranked just 110th in the nation going into Sunday and had never picked up a club until he was 19. (He's now 37.) In this article in the Chronicle, Yang had this to say about going up against the legendary Woods:
It's not like you're in an octagon where you're fighting against Tiger and he's going to bite you or swing at you with his 9-iron. So the worst I could do was lose and probably drop a few ranks down on the final scoreboard. I really had nothing much at stake.

In 1789, the governor of Australia granted land and some animals to James Ruse in an experiment to see how long it would take him to support himself. Within 15 months he had become self sufficient. The area is still known as Experiment Farm. This is my Experiment Farm to see how long it will take me to support myself by writing.
