Shorts


These are photos taken circa WWI of US Soldiers forming patriotic patterns (including Uncle Sam and Woodrow Wilson). What amazes me is how well they corrected for the distortion of the angles. See how the white stripes are formed by just 3 men in the front, but many more at the back.

In 1789, the governor of Australia granted land and some animals to James Ruse in an experiment to see how long it would take him to support himself. Within 15 months he had become self sufficient.
