Shorts

The problem with most of the people in the list The Quick 10: 10 People Who Hate Shakespeare is that they hate reading Shakespeare, which of course he never intended people to do. They're plays. They're meant to be seen. Reading Shakespeare as literature is a relatively recent and somewhat unfortunate development.

In 1789, the governor of Australia granted land and some animals to James Ruse in an experiment to see how long it would take him to support himself. Within 15 months he had become self sufficient.
