Employee Free Whaa?

There's a huge group of people in front of my building demonstrating in support of the Employee Free Choice Act.

That has to be one of the most poorly named pieces of legislation.

Basically it would change things such that if 50% of employees signed union cards saying they wanted to join a certain union, then that union would be certified as representing every employee.

How exactly is forcing 49% of employees into a union "free choice"?

It finally dawned on me why there are so many protests in front of my building, aside from there being a nice open area for them: Senator Diane Feinstein has an office in this building. Of course I'm sure she's never there, but still...
