The current rankings pose something of an interesting oddity. Currently, 3 of the top 4 teams (and 4 of the top 7) are from the SEC.
1. Florida
3. Alabama
4. Mississippi
7. LSU
Not only that, all but Florida are in the SEC West Conference. If Alabama, Mississippi, or LSU finishes the season undefeated (and Florida does as well), the SEC title game becomes a play-in game for the National Championship Game. While not impossible, it's highly unlikely two teams from the SEC would end up in the big game. (One scenario: if no other major conference produces an undefeated champion and the SEC West runner-up is ranked number 3 with the two SEC conference winners ranked 1 and 2, then you'll see an all SEC National Championship Game.)
THAT means that it's highly likely Texas, Penn State, or Cal will end up in the National Championship game, at least as of right now, assuming one of them goes undefeated.
Personally, I'm pulling for Cal.

In 1789, the governor of Australia granted land and some animals to James Ruse in an experiment to see how long it would take him to support himself. Within 15 months he had become self sufficient. The area is still known as Experiment Farm. This is my Experiment Farm to see how long it will take me to support myself by writing.
