Novel Frenzy Update

I've bot about 1600 words. A lot of it's disjointed and scattered. Most of it's not going anywhere and would need to change if were going to go somewhere.

I just can't get any traction. I guess the point of something like NaNoWriMo is the exercise. Force yourself to write it and not worry about whether or not it's any good. I'm just not inspired by anything just now and forcing it doesn't seem to be getting me anywhere. I keep running into dead ends and finding the fundamental flaws that got me there.

Anyway, it's disappointing.

I might just abandon the exercise and focus on trying to get a short story published or revising the play I wrote last fall.

I had a highly informal reading in my future in-laws living room of it last night. It went very well. I needed to hear it aloud. Everyone seemed to enjoy it and I got some good food-for-thought feedback.

Now I just need to figure out what happens next with it. It's been so long since I wrote a play, I've sort of forgotten how to develop one. I guess at some point I need to start looking for places to submit it.

  2. Well ok then. Maybe I'll ask you to read it at some point.

In 1789, the governor of Australia granted land and some animals to James Ruse in an experiment to see how long it would take him to support himself. Within 15 months he had become self sufficient. The area is still known as Experiment Farm. This is my Experiment Farm to see how long it will take me to support myself by writing.
