Shorts

I'm not sure exactly where my week went, or why I didn't post much. I guess I was busy or something.

Unbreakable Baseball Records

511 wins. Wow, that's a lot of wins. Of course, I'm sure Lou Gehrig's consecutive games played record would have been on this list 30 years ago, which is probably why Ripken's didn't make the list. Thus proving no record is "unbreakable", just improbable.

I would also add Hack Wilson's 191 single season RBI record to the list. Of the top 25 single season RBI leaders, only 2 happened since 1950: Sammy Sosa's 160 in 2001 and Manny Ramirez's 165 in 1999. So if steroids can't even get someone within 25 of Hack's record... I'm thinking it's pretty safe.

Of course, I also don't see anyone getting to 74 home runs without some serious performance enhancing drugs, so that one's gonna last a while too.

In 1789, the governor of Australia granted land and some animals to James Ruse in an experiment to see how long it would take him to support himself. Within 15 months he had become self sufficient. The area is still known as Experiment Farm. This is my Experiment Farm to see how long it will take me to support myself by writing.
